Who They Are
Pragmatic Play became an official brand name in 2015, it was created and built up on top of a studio called TopGame Technology that had been plodding along since way back in 2007. The rebrand was not just a new logo. It sits with a group of investors led by Veridian (Gibraltar) Limited, and Julian Jarvis, who co-founded it, still runs the place. He came out of AOL Europe and then the team behind PartyGaming, so he had seen the operator side of things before he started building for it.
They hold licences in more than 40 places, the UK Gambling Commission included. That is why their games show up in British lobbies instead of being stuck offshore somewhere.
Then there is the output. Most studios manage a handful of games a year. Pragmatic Play put out up to eight slots a month, and keep topping up the live casino and bingo on top of that. How the Games Run
The live games stream in 4K from purpose built studios, and the picture holds up well on a phone. Bet spots and chips sit over the feed rather than beside it, so you are not squinting at a shrunken table when you switch to mobile viewing.
Everything runs through a single system, which sounds like a technical detail but matters when you are playing. Your balance moves between the slots, the live tables and the bingo rooms without you shifting anything about, and the games all load in the same client.

The game shows are where Pragmatic Play have done their most interesting work, and most of them are built off slot brands you will already know.

Gala runs both, and they are not really competing for the same thing.

Pragmatic Play come at it from the slots side.
