Ancient Greek mythology is a big thing in the world of online slots, and every developer has games themed around it in their catalogue. Red Tiger Gaming's latest offering to the genre is God's of Troy. And just like all RTG's slots, it has its own little twists to gameplay to make things interesting. And visually, the studio has gone down a slightly different route as well, with a simple, elegantly designed reel set.

Played on a 5-reel, 4-row game grid, Gods of Troy features a total of 30 paylines to land winning combinations on. The symbols are 10 to Ace card ranks, a horn, a vase of coins, a chariot, and a warrior. Helen of Troy herself is also here, landing as a giant 3x1 symbol and awarding 300 x the stake for five. Stake levels can range from 0.10 to 10 per spin. 

The Wild shield symbol can land on any reel and will substitute for any regular symbol. It will also award a prize of 300 x the bet if five land on a payline.

The Golden Shield leaves behind a Golden Wreath every time it lands, which plays a part in a base game bonus which I'll tell you all about below. 

The Scatter is a Trojan warrior and will award the Troy Spins bonus round.

In Gods of Troy's base game, a bonus triggers every ten spins, which are tracked on a counter above the reels. When Golden Shields land,  a Golden Wreath appears to frame their position and sticks in place. On every ten spins, all the Golden Wreaths turn Wild for one spin, and then the next sequence kicks in. If a Golden Shield lands on a position already framed by a Golden Wreath, it is moved onto another random position. 

When three or more Scatters are in view, then the Troy Spins are triggered. At the start of the bonus round, a wheel spins to award free spins with guaranteed Wilds. Three scatters can win the player up to 15 spins and a maximum of 10 wilds, 4 scatters award up to 25 spins and 12 wilds, while 5 scatters can lead to up to 50 spins and 15 wilds.

During the Free Spins, the number of guaranteed Wilds are always present on the reels, so the win potential of the round is a lot higher than the base game. The Wilds can stick in place or move around, but they are always there somewhere, helping to form winning combinations. Each scatter that lands during the round adds an extra spin to the total.

Red Tiger Gaming always likes to put a unique twist on gameplay, and the Golden Wreath feature is very nicely done.
